Fluoropolymers
Engineered for extreme environments. Trusted across industries.
Fluoropolymers are a family of high-performance plastics known for their exceptional chemical resistance, thermal stability and non-stick properties.
These materials perform where standard polymers fail: in aggressive chemicals, extreme temperatures, or high-purity environments. That makes them essential in industries such as chemical processing, aerospace, semiconductors, oil and gas, and medical technology.

Your application, our expertise
We don’t just supply materials. We deliver finished parts and custom-engineered solutions:
What makes fluoropolymers unique?
Fluoropolymers are defined by strong carbon-fluorine bonds in their molecular structure. This bond creates a non-reactive, low-energy surface that resists nearly all chemicals and prevents adhesion. In practice, this translates into key advantages:
- Chemical inertness: withstands aggressive acids, solvents and bases
- Thermal resistance: usable from -200°C up to 260°C
- Low friction: ideal for non-stick applications and dynamic seals
- Electrical insulation: excellent dielectric properties
UV and weather resistance: long lifespan in outdoor or harsh environments
Key types and applications
At Vanéflon, we supply and machine a wide range of fluoropolymers, including:
- PTFE: extremely chemical-resistant and low-friction. Widely used in gaskets, seals, valve seats and insulators.
- PCTFE: very low permeability, ideal for cryogenic valves and moisture barriers.
- PFA: combines PTFE-like resistance with better transparency and weldability. Often used in semiconductor and pharma equipment.
- FEP: flexible, transparent, and used in tubing and wire insulation.
- ETFE: abrasion-resistant and suitable for structural applications like architectural films or corrosion barriers.
- PVDF: strong and mechanically tough. Found in chemical tanks, pumps, and membranes.
These materials are processed into semi-finished shapes, precision-machined parts, valve components, and sealing solutions — all tailored to the needs of demanding industries.
Fluoropolymers and PFAS
Fluoropolymers are part of the broader PFAS family but differ significantly from low-molecular PFAS substances. They are large, stable, and do not dissolve or accumulate in the environment in the same way.
Their durability often contributes to long product lifecycles and fewer replacements — supporting sustainability in critical applications.
