What is PTFE - what is it used for?
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), is a thermoplastic polymer with several unique properties and is therefore used as a cost-effective solution in different industries : oil & gas, food, pharma, chemical processing, aerospace, semicon, hydrogen and construction sectors.
PTFE is easily machinable: sawing, drilling, turning and milling are the most common processing techniques.
The best-known brand name of PTFE-based formulas is Teflon® (Chemours).
