FEP
FEP is very similar in composition to PTFE, but differs in its maximum operating temperature and its colour. FEP is highly transparent and resistant to sunlight.
Due to its flexibility, extreme resistance to chemical attack and optical transparency, this material is commonly used for plastic labware and tubing that involves critical or highly corrosive processes. Being able to maintain chemical composure in extreme temperatures and to resist damages from chemical fuels makes FEP a suitable choice in the industry.
Vanéflon is your partner for rods, tubes, sheets and machined parts.
Key properties
- Lower maximum operating temperature than PTFE: +205°C (PTFE = +260°C)
- Very low coefficient of friction
- Chemically inert
- Food contact: FDA compliant – EU 10/2011
- Easily formable
- Low dielectric constant (insulating)
- Transparent/clear in thin-wall thickness
