Semi-finished products
Vanéflon produces semi-finished products in PTFE, fluoropolymers and other high-performance plastics, including rods, tubes, sheets, billets and near-net shapes. These base materials are suitable for further machining, sealing applications, test batches and custom component production.
With a large stock of materials, compounds and moulds, Vanéflon supports both standard dimensions and customised shapes produced as close as possible to final part dimensions.
Internal production of PTFE plates, rods, tubes and billets
Using compression moulding and extrusion, Vanéflon manufactures a wide variety of semi-finished forms in-house. This setup allows for flexibility in both standard products and customer-specific requirements.

Aside from standard sheets, rods and tubes, of which sufficient stock is typically available, Vanéflon is especially known for its near-net shapes and flexibility to produce smaller batches in fluoropolymer compounds.
SHEETS
Vanéflon produces standard sheets in different fluoroplastics such as PTFE, including all compounds, PCTFE, PFA, FEP and ETFE, as well as other high-performance materials such as PEEK, POM, PET and more.
Thickness and dimensions vary depending on the material used. Vanéflon uses different techniques to deliver products to your specific requirements, such as compression moulding and hot moulding.
Vanéflon is also able to saw or cut your sheets to your desired dimensions in order to meet your requirements as closely as possible.
RODS
Vanéflon produces standard rods in different fluoroplastics such as PTFE, PCTFE, PFA, FEP and ETFE, as well as other high-performance materials such as PEEK, POM, PET and more.
Aside from typical extrusion rods, Vanéflon can produce rods using cold or hot compression moulding, both vertically and horizontally pressed. Horizontally pressed rods offer a major advantage: constant material quality and uniform ultra-low residual stress, thanks to continuous pressure monitoring over the entire length.
This makes them highly suitable for high-precision machined parts, combining excellent chemical and mechanical characteristics with tight, stable tolerances and significantly reduced machining scrap.

TUBES AND BILLETS
Vanéflon produces tubes and billets in different fluoroplastics such as PTFE, including all compounds, PCTFE, PFA, FEP and ETFE, as well as other high-performance materials such as PEEK, POM, PET and more.
In addition to typical extruded tubes, Vanéflon can produce vertically pressed billets using cold or hot compression moulding. With hundreds of moulds available, billets can be produced as close as possible to final dimensions, with flexibility in size and length and tight tolerances on both inside and outside diameters.
If needed, Vanéflon can produce its own moulds in the short term to offer exactly what you are looking for.
NEAR-NET SHAPES
Near-net shaping is an industrial production technique ensuring the compression-moulded item is produced very close to its final shape. This reduces machining time and material consumption. As such, this technique leads to cost savings, increases productivity, reduces lead times and improves the sustainability of the product.
Vanéflon can use this technique with all fluoropolymers, including PTFE, modified PTFE and all PTFE compounds. The degree of “finished form” can be decided together with the customer.
FLUOROPOLYMER COMPOUNDS
Thanks to our extensive range of tools, grades and presses, Vanéflon can compression mould fluoropolymer compounds into any semi-finished form, including sheets, rods and tubes. This is especially useful for smaller series, test batches, tubes close to final part dimensions, or projects where short lead times are required.
Common PTFE compounds include carbon, graphite, bronze, glass, stainless steel and aromatic esters, available in various percentages or combinations. Vanéflon can also produce compounds in different grades of modified PTFE, PFA, PCTFE, PEEK and ETFE.
With over 100 fluoropolymer compounds in stock, Vanéflon can typically deliver customised products within 3 weeks. These semi-finished products are particularly well-suited for specific sealing applications in demanding production environments.
